TEAR FILM



In addition to the light green 
staining of the tear film seen 
over the corneal surface, the 
tears in the tear meniscus (also 
called tear prism, lacrimal lake, 
tear strip) along the lid margins 
is easily seen.  With dry eyes 
this tear prism is decreased in 
size and may be essentially 
absent in places.
